Seeking an alternative to expensive professional memberships with few tangible benefits, I founded the League of Awesome Librarians in 2019 (launch date: August 5, 2019) with a talented team of peers from libraries around the US. As the key feature, this alternative professional membership includes a private (and privacy-conscious) ad-free social network for library workers around the globe.

The League is monitored by fellow librarians/library workers to ensure adherence to a robust set of community guidelines designed to foster an inclusive and positive space for critical dialogue, support, and inspiration. Fresh content drops weekly from curated articles around a monthly theme—plus fun polls, and interactive questions; content is written by a diverse team of volunteer writers who are professionals in the field.

All memberships include 24/7 access to the private, ad-free virtual network. Additional features include small communities of practice, monthly speakers and social gatherings, and quarterly virtual workshops designed for skill-building fun and tangible takeaways.
